A new day...

Hello all!! So yes I to have finally given in and joined the online experience of starting a blog to share events and what I think to be funny stories that always seem to happen around here. I do think I am a very technological savvy person so I think this will be a fun adventure.
So as most of you know we have kind of had a hard couple months full of ups and downs. In October we were blessed to have a brand new fabulous baby boy, Ryan. He is the absolute perfect mold of a baby, not to fussy or demanding. His big sis first started out think he was the best thing since sliced bread but now of course the newness is wearing off... She still loves him don't get me wrong and is a big helper to me when I need her to run get a diaper or whatever else I need but yeah now it is turning more into a competition for mommy's attention. I can't say this has hit me out of nowhere, I was planning on this.
So, the first couple weeks we were home as a family of four was fabulous and we were really getting into a grove and then way out from left field Nicole comes down with Swine flu!!!! What the heck??? The last thing anyone should be worried about when they bring home a newborn is something like this!!!! You are suppose to be filled with overwhelming love and so tired you don't remember which side you are on to nurse!!!

Man, when you are younger and you have this perfect picture of what your life is going to be like, getting married and have a family (with 2 boys and 2 girls to make things even) why the heck doesn't your mother, grandmother and every other mother in the world tell you how hard it can be sometimes to be a mother!!!!!!! I knew sometimes my mom was stressed out with 3 kids, a full time job, and helping out on a farm (which is another full time job) but she handled it so well...

The end of October came and we had to go up to Children's to get a blood blister that had become as big as the tip of my pinkie finger in Nicole's mouth. She was the bravest girl ever and sat very still as they lazered it off. I can't say being that young I would of been that calm. Then of course we had to go up there when there was a huge blizzard that we ended up driving back in. Let me tell ya it should be mandatory in marriage counseling that you need to drive with your husband to be in a blizzard, build something, and talk about who is going to change diapers before you get married. It would iron out a lot of the kinks that you weren't expecting on.

Then on December 11 Hazen went in to see the doc because he has been having some chest discomfort for about a year and it has been slowly getting worse. Well given the family history he had a whole heart work up and his ECG came back abnormal so they immediately put him in the hospital. He ended up staying overnight and then the next day it was a nice ambulance trip up to Greeley to do an angio-gram on Sunday morning. The procedure went fine, they found nothing wrong and we were headed home around 3 p.m. We had pick-up Pizza Hut on the way home and were getting ready to settle in for the night to find out that our well decided not to work. So we got loaded up to head down to the parents for the night when as soon as Hazen shut the door on the car he felt something pop!!! He immediately felt something was wrong so I drove like a mad woman to the hospital trying to call and maneuver around snow drifts. It was one of the most horrific drives I have ever been a part of. I tried to keep him talking to me and he was doing fine until we reached town and then he started to pass out. I was screaming at him and telling him everything was going to be ok... I skidded up to the ER drive and ran up to ring the bell. They came walking out as I was screaming he was passing out to go get the stretcher. I ran over to his side of the car trying to get him to come to as his eyes were rolled in the back of his head. They finally came out which seemed like forever and I jumped in behind him as they were helping him out. He began to come to I think because it had just started to snow and it was freezing out. Gail (my mother-in-law) came skidding up and got took Ryan who was screaming on the top of his lungs. I don't know how I did it but I called her during the race to the hospital. We got him into the ER and then a rush of people came in. They were trying to get IV's in him (which kept collapsing) and I was holding pressure on the spot they went in for the angio-gram. There were 3 docs in there at one time trying to figure everything out. They got him stable and called for flight for life but they had to turn around due to the weather. Then, the next step another ambulance ride trying to keep him completely still so he wouldn't bleed anymore. Well we finally got up to Greeley around 3 a.m. His bleeding had stopped so now it was a hurry up and wait for the doc to come in. They gave him some pain meds to help him but then he didn't breath so someone had to be with him constantly to tell him to breath. Later he got a CAT Scan and an ultrasound and the bleeding had stopped by itself. He stayed in the hospital again that night and then we stayed in a hotel the next night just to make sure everything was ok. Hazen's parents needed to go home so his grandma came up to get us.

So you may ask now what are we up to... Well Hazen is doing much better but is still really sore and bruised up. They told us that his body just has to absorb all that blood, which is a very slow process. We are all finally over our colds (which thankfully Hazen didn't get). Yeah, we come home after all we had been through with Nicole, Ryan and I getting a cold, go figure.

I know take a minute and absorb all the information.

I am so happy to see 2009 leave and 2010 come in.

I just want to say thank you for all your prayers, meals, and help (you know who your are :)

Well I guess the Lord knew I could handle a lot from the get go....
